BARKERS ENGINEER'S COMMENTS:

"The truth of the matter is that this is our second go-round of research and development on the 14/15 Grizzly. When this machine came out from Yamaha we got to work on a single exhaust, a natural fit since Yamaha went back to a single exhaust port. We developed, tested, felt satisfied, and launched the 2014/2015 Grizzly single exhaust system. Then the 2016 Grizzly came out and after struggling on a Dyno a bit and we thought back to the incredible success we had with the 2015+ Raptor 700 where we created our dual system by splitting into two cans from the single port head. When we attempted the same style design with the 2016 Grizzly, we were blown away by the gains! This was the point where we began looking back at the single for the 2014/2015 Grizzly, thinking that maybe we left some ponies on the table with the previous design. We got back to work on that machine, and sure enough, a powerful dual exhaust for this machine was born."

After some time we found that these 14/15 Grizzly's ran extremely hot, and we just did not see the packing life we wanted out of our single exhaust. After quite a bit more testing we found that the AIS system on the Yamaha was creating a ton of excess heat resulting in the muffler depleting it's packing much quicker than we'd like.

The duals spread the heat and exhaust flow out into two separate mufflers dropping the heat and pressure basically in half. With the CVT transmission making the machine run at a higher standard RPM than a geared quad, the machine coming from the factory already ran lean. The AIS system also adds additional oxygen to the exhaust, causing the exhaust temps on the Grizzly's to get extremely hot.

With our dual exhaust system for the 14/15 Grizzly 700, we supply 2 pieces of DEI's extreme heat barrier to protect two areas that could be prone to melting plastics.  We do however recommend looking deeper into heat protection and highly recommend DEI's Bodywork Protection Kit to truly do a nice job in long term heat protection. To further combat any exhaust heat under your plastics, wrapping the area where the pipes split from 1 to 2 with Exhaust Heat Wrap can further help. We do not recommend wrapping an entire exhaust in heat wrap, though, as this can cause all of the heat to go into the mufflers.

We also do not recommend running this system without properly tuning your machine or adding a fuel controller that is pre-mapped with the ideal settings for this exhaust system upgrade. Blocking off your AIS system can further help to keep the heat down and will prolong the life of your packing

    THE FULL STORY:

The 2014/2015 Yamaha Grizzly 700 boasts powerful performance, with its 686cc engine. To further improve power, team your 2014/15 Yamaha Grizzly 700 up with a Barkers 1 into 2 Dual Exhaust System and feel your machine come to life! The Barkers 1 into 2 Dual Exhaust System will increase your Grizzly 700’s performance throughout the entire power curve. With increased horsepower and a new deep, throaty sound signature only to Barkers, take on the trails like never before! The 1 into 2 Dual Exhaust System even weighs less than the stock system, so achieving that needed edge to take down those tough tasks are that much easier.

All of Barkers Systems are made from premium materials that are hand welded right here in the USA. When other after-market exhaust systems can be manufactured robotically, Barkers Exhaust systems must be hand welded one-by-one by skilled craftsman. The head pipe is made from 304 stainless steel that is Tig-welded with seam-reduced interior surfaces for smooth flow. The can is comprised of 6061-grade aircraft aluminum and comes in a brushed aluminum finish. You can also choose to get your can in a black powder-coated finish. You can also choose what color Barkers tag you would like. Color options include: black, blue, red or yellow.  We attach the dual exhaust to the machine with a Solid Billet Machined Clamp.

Other features you might also consider for your new system are the Barkers Quiet Core Inserts and the Barkers Spark Arrestors. The Quiet Core Inserts will reduce sound by up to 5 db and are ideal for riding in those sound sensitive areas. With only a loss of .5 to 1.5 horsepower, you may decide to ride with them in all of the time! The Barkers Spark Arrestors will assist in trail safety by eliminating any flammable emissions from exiting the exhaust.

We recommend purchasing a fuel controller for your new system and do not recommend running without one. A fuel controller, like the EHS Racing EFI Fuel Controller, will drastically improve the way your new exhaust system and Grizzly 700 performs. When you purchase the EHS Fuel Controller from Barkers, it will have already been pre-programmed to provide your new system with the proper amount of added fuel flow it requires to perform its best. If you are interested in learning more about why you should purchase a fuel controller, please feel free to call us!

To achieve maximum performance results from your new 1 into 2 Dual Exhaust System we also highly recommend increasing your intakes airflow. The EHS Racing Flow Through Intake Lid is all set up for this system. The lid will increase your airflow but also increase your filtration allowing for longer filter life also!

You can choose to buy these items separately, or save a little and buy them all with our EHS Racing Big 3 Performance Package for 2014-2015 Grizzly 700 Models

At Barker's, we have an extreme amount of dedication and respect for the off-road lifestyle. And we understand that owning and maintaining a performance vehicle is no joke. That is why you can expect only the best in Barker's craftsmanship and design. All Barker’s exhaust systems carry a limited one-year warranty against defects in workmanship and/or materials. See Barker's Terms & Conditions.

    MAINTENANCE:

We recommend that you monitor and check the packing in your muffler after every ride. The length and time your packing will last will vary depending on how and where you ride. When you first notice any sign of the packing depleting within the can, it's time for a repack. Packing will wear out slowly over time, starting at 100% packed. It is normal for an absorption style high-performance muffler to lose packing but once you lose more than about 10-15% of your packing it will deplete faster and faster since it can now move around in the can. It is imperative you do not allow the packing to deplete too far. If your muffler becomes very loud or you hear rattling around inside the can you have completely depleted the internal packing and should not ride the machine until the muffler is repacked with a fresh pillow. Order new packing before you need it!

The Barker's Exhaust Complete Repack Kit is designed to make repacking your Barker's Exhaust Can simple. *NOTE: If you have a dual system you will need to purchase 2 repack kits.
