BARKER'S ENGINEER COMMENTS:
"The pipe fits very cleanly on this machine, looking like the machine was made for the Barker's system. With only minor jetting changes we were able to achieve HUGE results on the Z400 motor. We achieved a solid 3.5 horsepower that pumps some serious life-blood into the motor. We were even surprised at the amount of low end torque we were able to gain with this system. As shown on the torque curve in the Dyno Chart the torque spread right from the start and is very substantial. Additionally, notice the gains in the over rev! The sound that comes from this machine is also an excellent component; not too loud but a nice, deep rumble that barks pretty good when you hit the throttle."

All of our systems are hand-welded right here in the USA with premium materials. While other aftermarket systems can be mass-produced over automated assembly lines, Barker's Exhaust Systems must be hand-welded one by one by skilled craftsmen. The exhaust pipe portion of your new system is composed of 304 stainless steel that is Tig-welded with seam-reduced interior surfaces for smooth flow. The can is comprised of 6061-grade aircraft aluminum. You can choose to leave your can with it’s brushed aluminum finish or have it powder-coated in black for added character. You can also select which color Barker's tag you would like on your system. Barker's tags come in black, blue, red or yellow. Complete your system by selecting which color billet clamps you would like. You may choose black, blue or red billet clamps to harness your new system to your machine.
Other options to consider include a Barker's Quiet Core Insert and Spark Arrestor. The Quiet Core Insert will reduce sound by up to 5 dB and is ideal when riding in those sound sensitive areas. Besides, with only a loss of .5 to 1.5 horsepower, you may decide to ride with them in all of the time! The Barker's Spark Arrestor will keep any fiery debris from escaping your exhaust and will help to keep our trails safe.
For serious riding, we highly recommend purchasing a fuel controller for your new system. A fuel controller will drastically improve the way your new exhaust system and LTZ 400 performs. As your new system will require the added fuel flow, a fuel controller is essential for your LTZ 400 to perform at it’s best. For optimal results, your dealer or a skilled technician should program the fuel controller prior to installation. If you are interested in learning more about why you should purchase a fuel controller, please feel free to call us! We promise you will talk to a real person who knows all about it!
MAINTENANCE:
We recommend that you monitor and check the packing in your muffler after every ride. The length and time your packing will last will vary depending on how and where you ride. When you first notice any sign of the packing depleting within the can, it's time for a repack. Packing will wear out slowly over time, starting at 100% packed. It is normal for an absorption style high-performance muffler to lose packing but once you lose more than about 10-15% of your packing it will deplete faster and faster since it can now move around in the can. It is imperative you do not allow the packing to deplete too far. If your muffler becomes very loud or you hear rattling around inside the can you have completely depleted the internal packing and should not ride the machine until the muffler is repacked with a fresh pillow. Order new packing before you need it!
The Barker's Exhaust Complete Repack Kit is designed to make repacking your Barker's Exhaust Can simple. *NOTE: If you have a dual system you will need to purchase 2 repack kits.
