The KLX 250 S / SF is an excellent bike for anyone looking to do mods, as simple upgrades will certainly deliver more power from this workhorse. The first thing we recommend is our performance exhaust, which will really open up the machine and immediately deliver an 18-20% horsepower increase.
If you have the fuel injected 2018+ KLX 250, we highly suggest the EJK Kawasaki KLX 250S/SF fuel controller with O2 bypass. The stock O2 connection will need to be disconnected and the bypass installed if there is an O2 sensor present.
THE FULL STORY:
Kawasaki has had a long track record of building tough, long lasting machines. And the Kawasaki KLX 250 is certainly one dual-purpose cycle that falls into this category. Extremely reliable and capable of almost anything, the KLX 250 is really an exceptional machine! Whether on the street, trails, dirt or track this machine brings any experience to life! With its 249cc 4-stroke DOHC engine, well-balanced design, quick throttle response and easy steering, it's no wonder so many people are committed to their KLX 250!
If you want to ready your KLX 250S/SF with even more horsepower and overall better performance, install a Barkers Full Single Exhaust System! Installing a Barkers Full Single Exhaust System on your KLX 250 will eliminate that sudden fall-off that the stock system experiences near redline and is the quickest, most cost-effective way to increase horsepower without major engine modifications. We also have a Dyno of our system only on this machine, as well as a Dyno of the stock vs our system, if you are interested. Our Dyno results are from a 2012 model. This exhaust system weighs less than the stock system and will also deliver that deep, throaty sound you've been looking for. If you need an exhaust system to keep up with the way you ride, install a Barkers Full Single Exhaust System on your KLX 250S/SF!
Each and every Barkers Exhaust System is made from premium materials that are hand-welded right here in the USA. When most other after-market exhaust systems are mass produced over automated assembly lines, Barker's exhausts are skillfully hand-welded one-by-one. The head pipe portion of the Full Single Exhaust System is made of 304 stainless steel that is Tig-welded with seam-reduced interior surfaces for smooth flow. The can is comprised o6061-gradede aircraft aluminum and comes standard in a brushed aluminum finish. You may choose to enhance the look of your new system by having your can powder-coated in a black finish. You also have a choice to choose which color Barker's tag you would like. You may choose a black, blue, red, or yellow Barker's tag. A strap kit will also be included with your purchase to harness your new system to your machine.
Additional options for the Full Single Exhaust System include the Barkers Quiet Core Insert and Spark Arrestor. The Barkers Quiet Core Insert is ideal for riding in those sound sensitive areas and will decrease sound by up to 5 dB. With a loss of only .5 to 1.5 horsepower, you may even want to ride with them in all of the time. The Barker's Spark Arrestor will help to keep our trails safe by eliminating any flammable emissions from escaping the exhaust.
For serious riding, we highly recommend purchasing a fuel controller for your new system. A fuel controller will drastically improve the way your new exhaust system and Kawasaki KLX 250 performs. As your new system will require the added fuel flow, a fuel controller is essential for your KLX 250 to perform at it’s best. For optimal results, your dealer or a skilled technician should program the fuel controller prior to installation. If you are interested in learning more about why you should purchase a fuel controller, please feel free to call us! We promise you will talk to a real person who knows all about it!
At Barkers, we have an extreme amount of dedication and respect for the off-road lifestyle. And we understand that owning and maintaining a performance vehicle is no joke. That is why you can expect only the best in Barker's craftsmanship and design. All Barker’s exhaust systems carry a limited one-year warranty against defects in workmanship and/or materials. See Barkers Terms & Conditions.
MAINTENANCE
We recommend that you monitor and check the packing in your muffler after every ride. The length and time your packing will last will vary depending on how and where you ride. When you first notice any sign of the packing depleting within the can, it's time for a repack. Packing will wear out slowly over time, starting at 100% packed. It is normal for an absorption style high-performance muffler to lose packing but once you lose more than about 10-15% of your packing it will deplete faster and faster since it can now move around in the can. It is imperative you do not allow the packing to deplete too far. If your muffler becomes very loud or you hear rattling around inside the can you have completely depleted the internal packing and should not ride the machine until the muffler is repacked with a fresh pillow. Order new packing before you need it!
The Barker's Exhaust Complete Repack Kit is designed to make repacking your Barker's Exhaust Can simple.
