FULL STORY:

For years, Barker's Performance has focused on the Raptors and the RZRs out there, but we've really been pushed hard to make some options for the 4X4 ATV crowd beyond our popular Grizzly systems. We're thrilled to now offer a Sportsman 850 Slip On Exhaust System!

Right out of the gate we wanted to get a quality slip-on system for the Sportsman 850 that showed nice gains without hurting the wallet. Since the header on the 850s comes so far back, it made it easy to be able to offer a cost effective slip on that includes all the quality riders expect out of our full systems.

Barker's Sportsman 850 Slip On Exhaust will gain a few good horsepower just bolting it on, but this machine really benefits from tuning. Without adding the fuel to get the proper Air/Fuel Ratio the system does run lean, but with proper tuning, you'll easily see (and feel!) 3-5 horsepower. We highly recommend the EHS fuel controller that is pre-mapped specifically for your machine coupled with our slip-on exhaust. The EHS controller has a few different settings built into it for the different versions of the Sportsman 850. The High Lifter Edition like the one shown in our photos has quite a different fuel map than the standard version. Both maps are built into the EHS fuel controller so make sure you read the instructions properly, selecting the settings that fit your specific machine.

MAINTENANCE:

We recommend that you monitor and check the packing in your muffler after every ride. The length and time your packing will last will vary depending on how and where you ride. When you first notice any sign of the packing depleting within the can, it's time for a repack. Packing will wear out slowly over time, starting at 100% packed. It is normal for an absorption style high-performance muffler to lose packing but once you lose more than about 10-15% of your packing it will deplete faster and faster since it can now move around in the can. It is imperative you do not allow the packing to deplete too far. If your muffler becomes very loud or you hear rattling around inside the can you have completely depleted the internal packing and should not ride the machine until the muffler is repacked with a fresh pillow. Order new packing before you need it!

The Barker's Exhaust Complete Repack Kit is designed to make repacking your Barker's Exhaust Can simple. *NOTE: If you have a dual system you will need to purchase 2 repack kits.

Suggested add-ons: Spark Arrestor.
